General CommentsUnit Information: 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) Location: Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC Address: 509 Biltmore Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801 Floor: E4 - CVPC Building: E Heart Tower General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Primary patient population is CV surgery and vascular surgery to include open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomies. We also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with diagnoses of heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc. Number of Beds 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds Number of Staff approximately 100 total Type of staff: o Day Shift 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 1.33 HUC o Night Shift 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing), 13 RN s, 4 PCT s, 0.33 HUC Patient Ratios 1:5 patients per RN, 1:13 for PCT s Type of equipment Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts EMR - Cerner Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for: Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Stepdown experience Telemetry experience Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass) within a year CVICU experience List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Epidural management Chest tube management Tube feedings IV gluccomander Cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) Best personality Fit: Team player Enjoys fast paced environment Flexible REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: ACLS and BLS Floating Area(s): Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1:6). Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white. Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please feel free to attach unit policies and guidelines. Please see attached traveler tip sheet Weekends and On call (if any) No call. Weekend requirements minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6 week schedule period. Travel Hourly Pay: $20.00
Travel Stipend: $1064.40
