Fidé is currently seeking a Social Worker (LMSW) with Adult Behavioral Health Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD) experience for a permanent placement in Southgate, MI.
The Adult Behavioral Health Substance Use Disorder Therapist (SUD) is responsible for maintaining a caseload consisting of clients, adolescents and adults, with a primary substance abuse and/or mental health diagnosis. The therapist is required to conduct intake assessments, to maintain the case record in a timely fashion, to complete authorizations with various funding sources in a timely manner as required, and to conduct appropriate treatment services based on medical necessity.
Services are delivered in the office setting on a scheduled or walk-in basis.
Regular working hours for staff are Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 7 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. Some evening or weekend hours will be required based on program needs.
It is a Therapist that is needed but they will need to have a masters' degree in Social Work.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Must meet all of the contract requirements of the funding sources and/or agency, including maintaining CAADC/Development Plan Certification and State licensure.
- Primary responsibility is to participate in the delivery of clinical services, including intake evaluations, substance abuse screenings, assessments, and direct treatment for clients.
- Conduct Intake Assessments, including all necessary opening paperwork (Psychosocial Assessment, financial and demographic forms, etc.)
- Gather and integrate information from all available sources, including client self-reports, reports from family members, guardian(s) and probation officer, documented medical, treatment history, etc.;
- Assist with the development of comprehensive Person-Centered Treatment Planning with consumers and other members of the treatment team (consistent with Integrated Biopsychosocial Assessment and all other clinical assessments);
- Provide face-to-face clinical interventions, in the office, to each assigned consumer at least monthly.
- Provide individual, family and group therapy.
- Conduct crisis planning with client.
- Provide referrals for services and community resources as needed.
- Work collaboratively with others in relation to the child and family including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, Wraparound facilitators, school personnel and other family service or support people.
- Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed.
- Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings and case consultations.
- Complete clinical records and agency documentation in a timely manner consistent with policies and procedures of the Guidance Center.
- Work with other COP and Guidance Center staff in addressing unit and agency issues and student supervision.
- Follow The Guidance Center’s professional code of ethics.
- Represent The Guidance Center in the community in a professional manner.
- Maintain appropriate state licensure of certifications.
- Complete 24 hours of training per calendar year specific to children or adolescents.
- Develop schedule with supervisor and work at least 4 hours each week after 5:00.
- Full-time staff must provide 23 hours of billable service per week.
- Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure.
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel: Mileage Reimbursement when personal vehicle used - IRS standard. .64 per mile
Any training paid for by TGC.

Paid holidays include: New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, ½ day for Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after (Black Friday), Christmas eve and Christmas Day.
Submission Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC or LLP) within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. This period may be extended by up to an additional 60 days of training at the sole discretion of the employer. Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period, all state licensure must continually remain active, in effect, and free from disciplinary action.
- Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional credential within 120 days of hire.
- Must possess a CAADC credential, or be on an active, approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire.
- Must have one year of experience (may include time spent in fieldwork or internship) treating or working with people who have been diagnosed with mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Additional requirements include: cultural competency, the ability to work effectively with a diverse population, the ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals and families in a variety of modes of treatment, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other unit staff and providers, and a willingness to be flexible.
