Location: Birmingham, AL
Fidé is currently seeking an RN with Cardiovascular Operating Room with experience for a 13-week contract in Birmingham, AL
Minimum Requirements: The following experience is required: 2+ years of current Cardiovascular Operating Room experience.
Job Summary: Delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Responsibilities: Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Complexity of Work: Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment: Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Minimum Qualifications Licensure / Certification / Registration: • Required Credential(s): • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
One or more of the following:
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Unit Description: 12 OR suits, 2/12 are dedicated strictly to CV surgery Scrub color for RNs: navy blue, but hospital scrubs are available if needed Other units to float to: Potential to occasionally float to the general OR for lunch relief. EMR used: Cerner/power chart Required skills/Experience: Experience in CV surgery, proficient in the circulator AND scrub role for standard CV cases, included, but not limited to: CABG, VATS, Carotids, AAA repair, robotic lobectomy, valve replacements, etc
Compliance Credentials Needed for Submission:
- Current AL RN License – compact allowed
- Current AHA BLS
- Current AHA ACLS
- Current CPI
- COVID Vaccination Card, no exemptions allowed
- Resume
- Two Past Supervisor References (must have job title, email, valid phone number)
